Oldschool DayZ Hardcore Server / Server events

I know, this might be a little bit to early, but we plan to have some cool events on the server. There will be several types of events like peacefull get-togethers for trading but also PVP events were two groups battle for a goal (e.g. one groups defends devils castle, the other one has to conquer it). Gosh, there are hundreds of ideas that come into my mind when I think of these events.

So it is a good idea to pop in here to see whats new on the server, because you might miss some nice things you'd like. We will also use the ingame Battle-eye announcements to inform you about whats happening, but the main information source about whats going on on the server is the forum. Hope you are as excited as I am :)

Oldschool DayZ Hardcore Server / Whitelist ist active now

The whitelist is active now. All players that have either registered here on Oldschool DayZ Hardcore or on and provided their GUID are automatically on the whitelist.

Until November 30th 2014 there is a grace whitelist active.  So if you played on Oldschool DayZ Hardcore between 11th and 15th of November 2014 you can play without registration.
This whitelist will shrink randomly until it is empty. It is just a way to not lock all players out instantly. So if you haven't registered your GUID yet, DO IT NOW. After November 30th 2014 there will be no way to play on Oldschool DayZ Hardcore without registration.

Updates to the whitelist will be two times a day at 7am and 7pm CET.

Today updates will be more frequently!

I have registered to the forum, why can't I log in to the server?
You probably have not provided your GUID. You have to provide a valid GUID in order to get onto the whitelist. For more information read this topic:,3.0.html

I provided my GUID but I'm still getting kicked by Battleeye.
Whitelist update takes some time. We have to manually update it. So we cannot update it every five minutes. Please have some patience. Also please check if you provided a correct GUID -- it needs to be 32 characters long!

Why isn't Oldschool DayZ Hardcore using persistence?

The answer is simple: in does'nt work yet. The loot respawn system is broken, so you end up running through 80 % of the server without finding even a crappy wrench. At the same time there are locations that are filled up with loot. As long as there is no fix for this problem we will keep persistence deactivated.

So you ask why is playing on Oldschool DayZ Hardcore a good idea? Well I'll give you several reasons:

It's a hardcore server
There are not so many hardcore servers out there because the majority of players prefers playing wimpy 3rd person DayZ (no offense meant ;)).  Oldschool DayZ Hardcore provides you with one of the most popular servers worldwide. Just check the popularity yourself at

Active admins
We have active admins that can react quickly. So restarting the server in case of a crash or banning hackers really works. You are not left alone with problems.

One additional character for free
Oldschool DayZ Hardcore is a private server with its own private hive. That means that the characters are bound to that server -- you start as bambi but you get an additional character to your two existing public hive characters for free! The extra character is bound to Oldschool DayZ Hardcore though.

No server hopping
Ever hated these players that log in at high loot areas like military bases just to get all the good stuff and then log out immediately, leaving you with no loot? Well, this is not possible on Oldschool DayZ Hardcore. As the server is a private hive, players cannot hop to servers, their characters are simply bound to the server. This is the reason why there is so much loot on this server.

No ghosting
Logging out of the server during combat, reposition on another server and then log in again behind the enemies back is known a ghosting. As Oldschool DayZ Hardcore is a private server with a private hive, ghosting is not possible. So you'll never again have problems with ghosting players.

Less hackers
As we have active admins and a whitelist, there should be less hackers than on public hive servers. Although we cannot prevent hackers from registering to Oldschool DayZ Hardcore, we can quickly ban them as soon as we learn about them. As we report all hacking incidents (together with GUID, IP and playername) without exception to Bohemia, Battleeye and Steam, using hacks means a tough time for Hackers.

More friendly players
Because of the whitelist the number of players that are friendly is generally higher than on a public hive server. The chances are higher that you meet again on Oldschool DayZ Hardcore, so its a good idea not to piss everybody off ;). This does not mean that there is no kill on sight or that there are no bandits, there is still a lot of PVP happening.

If you want to play on Oldschool DayZ, you need to be on the whitelist. In order to get on the whitelist you need to register your Global User Identification (GUID) to the forum.

Please follow these steps to obtain your GUID

A GUID looks like this:


It consists of the letters a, b, c, d, e, f and the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 0 -- it does not contain any other character. Please make sure, you register a valid GUID.

The whitelist will be updated on a regular base. Usually once a day around 7.00 pm CET. On weekends updates might happen more often, depending if there is admin staff around.

Hello fellow survivors,

welcome to the Oldschool DayZ Hardcore forum. We are a community of avid DayZ players and we love to play this game in 1st person mode (or hardcore as it is also called).
Oldschool DayZ Hardcore is in service since March 2014 and moved to private shard in October 2014.

In order to play on Oldschool DayZ hardcore you need to be on the whitelist. To get on this list you need to register to this forum and add your ingame name and GUID to your forum profile. If you are a member of the and registered your GUID there, you're already whitelisted and don`t need to register here (but would love if you do  ;) ).

So don't hesitate, register now and start playing.
