Oldschool DayZ Hardcore Server / Re: "Beta". And now?

Looks like they finally found a solution for persistence errors, fixed vehicles flying to orbit and improved the server performance. I dodged 1.0 (lel) for those reasons but will give it a try now. Oldschool never dies!

Release today. I must admit I fear that DayZ will not regain it's former glory if Oldschool is not open for buisness during these jump starts.

Fixed your post.

Hello Survivors,

let's get straight to the point: It is time. DayZ is going to leave Early Access with a PC 1.0 update on December 13th, after almost exactly 5 years in open development!

Everyone on our team has been working hard and will continue for this remaining week to deliver the best launch version we can. With the BETA last month, we've seen the return of the first vehicle and item stashes, as well as the premiere of DayZ base building, the release of server files and the beginning of Modding Support. The most recent Experimental Update has returned horticulture to the game, making survival within your base more autonomous, and allowing the return of the full hermit play style.

Backed by the underlying engine changes introduced with the BETA, the 1.0 launch should feel like a fresh new start for anyone who has not played DayZ for some time - so let your friends know that they have a game to play on December 13.

Keep following us for more events and information over the course of the next two weeks!

See you in Chernarus!

"Dear Survivors,it's about time to talk about the content update that's coming to Stress Test branch very soon and will get rolled over to the Experimental servers after making sure everything works as intended. " Status Report 31. July 2018.

We are getting there...

That is a shame because I cancelled the service today. Finally the money run out. I do not believe anything they say anymore. As I do not want to pay another 400 bucks for another three monts of empty server it is over for the time being.

So far running Oldschool for at least the last one and a half years was the biggest money burning machine. There are better ways to spent 2500 Euros. I'm off the hypetrain.

If they ever manage to bring it to experimental or even stable I might reconsider starting the server again.

Please do not donate anymore, guys. Thank you.

*pulls the plug*

Server will go offline on August 28th 2018.  If a wonder happens and BI really releases something I might cancel the cancelation.
But first I go on holydays to Ukraine! Cya in three weeks.

Maybe they solved it on an internal branch?

I want to believe.

From todays Status Report:

We should also talk about our plan to make the Experimental servers available to server owners currently running their communities. Sadly this had to be slightly postponed due to changes necessary for GDPR and memory leaks wreaking havoc on stability and performance. These seem to be fixed as of today, so very soon you will be able to switch over and enjoy the updated version with your fellow community members on your own terms.

Any news on this topic? I think Oldschool is the last big hardcore Server outside Australia, Russia and USA since DayZ Underground has closed its EU Server. Hope you can stay up til beta, anyway big shoutout to the whole team especially to n4ttl and Aim-iliO for their work and dedication.

Honestly I think disabling whitelist is counterproductive to the issue of missing donates. New players won't even get in touch with this site and it's community, while some of the old members will eventually switch servers because of not getting a slot. Being 30th in queue midweek made me change server already. Will be back for whitelist weekend though. If this event is a success you could consider turning on whitelist permanently. ;)

The server isn't whitelisted anymore?

You need to be whitelisted to see your stats, but the whitelist does not prevent you to be kicked from the server. Ther reasons are the low playerbase.

Since when? I had friends joining me on this server just last week and they had to get whitelisted before they could join.

All the Old Oldsmobile who where the base donators are not playing anymore and the randoms who are playing now on Oldschool since the server is not whitelisted are not really into the community and not interested in keeping it up.

The server isn't whitelisted anymore?
