that looks cool yeah.  although i dont mind how woods are now, at close distance.  the worst aspect of dayz (or any game) has to be draw distance of grass and bushes etc. hard to imagine it ever improving either(in dayz time at least), and even if it does, people will just turn it to lowest setting because other peopel have it on lowest setting.
would be cool if server side could lock the graphic settings somehow. anyway thats even more off topic

old topic but i aint been here much lately. i think second account is very bad, 1 player = 1 character is my view.
anything else is artificial. i dont even like barrels and camps, because it sjust liek running back to a second life,  less reasson to care about dying, but second characters is worst i think.

i made this video to show how someone can easily record dayz gameplay with decent video quailty, that looks fine when upiloaded on youtube. its much less of a performance hit than using fraps. hopefully this info can be of use to some oldschool players who want to find a way to record that doesnt affect their gameplay, and still gets good results. maybe there are some peoplel that wanted to record but just couldnt work out which program to use, or how to set it up well.  follow the video and you shoudl be all fine. depending on what pc you are running you might have to make some small adjustments, although this will work for the majority

Server Events / objective based event idea with teams?

1 team starts at orlovets 1 team starts at polana, fight for control of the 'factory' construction site between those towns, whoever is alive and inside the walls at the end of event is winner, noone can go inside the walls of the factory until event has been started for  15 minutes.

edit: could be anywhere on map this location is just quick idea for the objective

10 months later edit - after i posted this idea, i stopped gaming for a while and just completely forgot about the idea, so sorry to anyoen who was actually interested. these days i dont want to plan or join planned events, i prefer the normal game experience cheers

my suggestion is almost the same as what is happening in the event already, except the teams are removed,  and just replaced with normal squads.
so if you think my suggestion is just "everyday kos", its no different from what is already happening at the event, except the 2 "teams" are just poorly organised squads with no teamplay, running to instant death at lumber yard, making it even more "everyday kos" especially when you have the non team players being allowed to kill the teams???

i dont see how teams make it an event, its the armed player count in a specific location that make it different from a normal game on dayz.
anyway its an idea, suggested since i dont see the point of 2 teams, when theres an open server and non-team players in the area players being allowed to shoot team players.

if teams were removed, the only thing that would make it not good/unfair is if there were squads of more than say 5 people, or different squads working together, by not shooting each other and also passing info to eachother. that would make it unplayable or at least unsurvivable for a lone player or a small squad in the town.

maybe it woudl be better if there are no teams, so normal squads can just go in as they would play normally, just with the knowledge that everyone is going to be in berezino (or other location).
no planning or rule needed, just lots of squads or lone players in the same area, starting at around 8pm CET

if u in military area or airfield then the odds are high, on low pop server,
 if you were in sinistok then yeah, unlucky
