New whitelist procedure! IMPORTANT!
« on: January 11, 2015, 01:23:25 PM »
Due to the recent problems with hackers, cheaters and glitchers we have decided to change the way how to get on the whitelist.

In addition to whitelist registration as described here you have now also to request membership in the "Verified Players" group.

To request membership do the following steps:

Go to your profile and in menu "Modify Profile" choose "Group Membership"

Choose Request Membership in the row "Verified Players"

You have to add an text to request membership. We want you to write something to us so that we know you are interested in playing at Oldschool DayZ Hardcore. Texts like "Me wanna play", "Give access plz", "Whitelist please", "My mates r playing here too" and similar application texts will be rejected. ALL APPLICATIONS HAVE TO BE IN ENGLISH. No Russian, no Chinese or any other language. You can use google translate if you cannot speak English very good.

Once you hit the submit button you will see the following message:

If you are accepted you will get an email confirmation to the address you used for your registration and you will see your group membership in your profile. If you used a fake address, bad luck.

Should the admin team not have accepted you you will also get an email with the reason.

This new registration process will come into effect on 24th of January 2015.

We will announce it here on the board, on the servers and on Twitter. Starting with 24th of January 2015  the new whitelist will be used. So if you have not applied for group membership in the Verified Players group by then, Battleeye will kick you with the message "Please register your GUID at www.oldschooldayz.net". Of course you can apply for group membership at any time. As usual, you will be able to play after the next whitelist update.

It is clear to us that there is still a chance that hackers register, but making it a little bit more awkward, we think that this might keep off some of them because they lost patience. We apologize to all legit players and hope that you understand this additional step.

Should you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask them.

Just to make things clear: every player, new ones and existing ones have to apply for group membership.

This is a very nice idea. I hope there will be a very close/personal community. In that case maybe real Factions and territories will form and make a foundation for some kickass roleplay!

G'day,

I applied yesterday and I'm pretty sure the GUI is correct and I also applied for the correct forum group as well. That out of the way, during the application process, it was asked "why" you would like to be whitelisted; here's where I dropped the ball. I didn't give any specific details, in fact, all I said in the form field was "GUID verification". I know that's not generally acceptable under the terms of application, as posted elsewhere on the forums. I just didn't read the details until "after" applying. I should have read the fine print I guess 'eh? "-)

Essentially, I'm seeking out private whitelisted servers to find a better level of player to fight against or play with. Primarly, my reason for doing this is to learn to be a better sniper. I'm also tired of the same old beat on public servers.

Anyhow, if there's a question about my application, I encourage the reviewing admin to give me a ring through the forums, email or twitter or anything like that.

Cheers.

I apologize for not being as detailed in the application.

Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory.
Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.

Only 10% of the registered players applied for the new group membership. Oldschool will be very very empty the days after the 24th...

Maybe you could send out an email as a lot of players probably aren't regularly on the forum?

Yea, but before they will get angry why they are not able to play. A Battleey message would be a good idea.

I understand but I'm not able to revoke my membership.. so that is why I'm asking. could I still change it?
