Server rules

Playing on Oldschool is different. We expect from our players to follow a certain code of honor when playing on our server. This means you have to follow our server rules. Basically there are not many rules to follow and we don't force you to play in a specific style. So if you prefer playing PVE as a survivor in the zombie apocalypse, do it. If you are a roleplayer and want to RP on Oldschool, that is wonderful.  And you can also play a badass bandit who shoots at other players on sight (but don't expect others to be friendly though). You can be friendly, unfriendly, hostile, swear at others, do whatever you like as long as you respect the following rules:

1. No hacking/glitching/bug-exploiting

If we find out that you are using hacks, known glitches or are exploiting bugs you will be banned from the server for lifetime. If you are in league with a known hacker we will also ban you no matter if you used hacks or not. You are responsible for your action, if you decide to team up with the baddies, you made your decission. So live with the consequences!
Streamsniping is also considered cheating because you use an unfair advantage over other players (friends watching a stream and giving you hints also belongs to this). No second chance!
Glitching barrels into non accessible areas counts as glitching. See our FAQ-section for more details.
Using the no-sway bug also counts as bug-exploiting. If we find out you are using it, you will get banned from this server.

Please note that we have now the ability to find dupers on the server. We will regularly monitor the logfiles and should we find out about duping, players in question will be banned within the second.

2. No Combat Logging

If a player was hit by another player or he hits another player (edit on September 3rd 2015) he is not allowed to log out within five minutes after the hit. If he or she does so it is considered as combat logging.

The penalties for combat logging will be the usual three strikes out:
  • 1st time combat logging will result in a warning
  • 2nd time combat logging will result in a 7 days ban
  • 3rd time combat logging will result in a permanent ban from the server

Usually we learn about combat logging because the other player made a complaint. Be aware that occasionally we check the logfiles for combat loggers.

3. No hate speak, sexism or racism

The Oldschool DayZ Hardcore community is international. So there are chances that you meet people from all over the world. Please treat other players with respect. Ingame names that are offensive, sexist or racsist are not acceptable. Also all names which are refering to extreme political or religious views are included. If we we find out about such names, you will be banned for lifetime. No second chance.

This is also valid for forum names.

We know that some of you roleplay and what would a bandit be without swearing at other people? But there is a red line that should not be crossed. We believe that you are able to decide what is okay and what is not.

4. All playstyles are allowed

Oldschool DayZ Hardcore is about freedom. You are free to decide which playstyle you want to play. Be it PVP, survival, roleplaying – everything is allowed as long as you are not breaking another rule.

5. Crashing server events

Oldschool server staff invests a lot of their spare time in planning and organizing server events for the community. Server events are here to make you enjoy playing on Oldschool DayZ Hardcore even more. However there are always some persons who think it is fun to destroy this events by killing the characters of the server staff or similar stuff. Well, this is not funny though.

So if you think you can crash those events, well, then we think we that you are not the right person to play on Oldschool DayZ Hardcore. So you might be removed from the whitelist...

Please always keep in mind that this is our server. You are a guest that is welcome, but you do not have an entitlement or a human right to play on Oldschool Hardcore. So if we think that you do not fit into our community we can remove you from the whitelist or even put you on our banlist without giving you a reason.

See, not too many rules to follow. Enjoy!

Changed server rules. Streamsniping no longer has its own rule. It is now is an offense like glitching or bug using because it gives players an unfair advantage over others.
